Shaddaad (may Allah be pleased with him), a companion of the Prophet (May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him), narrates that once the Messenger of Allah (May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) to the Masjid to lead the ‛Isha Prayer, he was carrying either Ḥasan or Ḥusain (may Allah be pleased with them both) in his arms, and set him aside before saying the Takbeerat-ul-iḥraam and leading the Muslims in prayer.
In the course of the prayer, one of his prostration was very long.
Shaddaad (may Allah be pleased with him) continued, 'When I raised my head I saw that the grandson of the Prophet (May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) was seated on his back and Allah's Messenger (May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) was still in the state of prostration. Therefore, I once again touched my forehead onto the ground and resumed the prostration.'
'When the Messenger of Allah (May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) completed the prayer, his noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) asked him, "O Messenger of Allah (May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him)! During your prayer, one of your prostrations became so prolonged that we became worried and feared that something may have happened or that the revelation was coming to you!"'
'The Prophet (May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "It was neither of the two. The fact of the matter is that my son (meaning Ḥasan or Ḥusain) had climbed on my back and I (did not want to) lift up my head until he had done what he wanted."'
