Pride and Arrogance

"And of knowledge, you (mankind) have been given only a little." (Qur'an 17:85)
It is said that a scholar became afflicted with pride and arrogance because of his knowledge.
One day, a scholar said, "Ask me about anything under the Throne until the bottom of the earth." A man stood and asked, "I will ask you about a matter that is much less significant than all of that, about a cave on earth. Allah (the Exalted) mentioned it in His Book. Inform me about the dog that was with the people of the cave: what color was it?" The scholar immediately came back to his senses and was brought down to humility, for he could not find an answer.
Moral
From this story we learn that knowledge, along with many other qualities, can lead one to become arrogant and prideful. If one dies with pride and arrogance in ones heart then this can be a cause for them to not enter into Paradise, Allah blesses people by humbling them and allowing them to repent before it is too late.- Couldn't Stop Him Self
